Want to use TransWandsworth features in your own web site or application?

The TransWandsworth API enables you to do just this! It is a collection of XML Web Services based on the Microsoft .NET Framework, written in ASP.NET and C#. It can be easily be integrated into web sites and applications via standard SOAP calls, as well as HTTP GET and POST.

Current Features

The TransWandsworth API currently consists of methods for Live Travel and Journey Planner integration. The methods return the relevant web address to obtain the live travel information or journey planning information.

Live Travel

The currently available methods return web addresses for live travel of the following transport modes:

  • Bus Routes
  • Tube Lines and station departure boards
  • National Rail Operators (through JourneyCheck) and station arivals and departures (through Narional Rail Enquiries)
  • River pier live departure boards

Journey Planning

NOTE: Due to the changes to bus route searching, the GetBusRoutes() method in the Journey Planner API has changed. Please see the service definition for more information.

The currently available methods return web addresses for planning the following types of journeys:

  • Bus route information including maps and stops (through Transport for London)
  • Driving directions (through Google Maps)
  • Public transport (through TfL Journey Planner)
  • Wandsworth bus routes serving a particular location (through TransWandsworth)
